4A
Vien Ren & Jimmy Ma
V & J: Good morning Principal, teachers and fellow students.
V: I’m Vien from 4A.
J: And I’m Jimmy from 4A.
Vien, what are you going to share with us today?
V: I want to share a video I watched on Youtube last night.
J: What is it about?
V: It is about a great person.
J: A great person? Is he tall and handsome?
V: No, he isn’t. In fact, he was born without limbs. That means he has no arms and legs, but only two very small feet, one of which has t
two toes.
J: Oh, it must be Nick Vujicic.
V: Bingo. He is a motivational speaker. His story really touched me!
J: Absolutely! He is my hero.
V: I was so impressed by Nick’s story. His early days were difficult. Throughout his childhood, Nick not only dealt with his physical
disability, but he also struggled with school and friendship.
J: True. I have read about his story, too. I can’t imagine how he coped with his daily life. Without arms, he managed to look after
himself well. He can dress himself, comb his hair, brush his teeth and so on.
V: He is not only independent, but he is also very brave. When he was a child, due to his disability, he was often bullied by others.
However, despite all kinds of discrimination, he still had an optimistic attitude. He tried to talk to those who teased him, and let them know how he felt.
J: His bravery encourages me to be strong and positive. I have to stay rosy while in trouble. I truly admire him. He is my idol.
V: Like you, many people in this world have been inspired by Nick. Since his first speaking engagement at 19, Nick has travelled around
the world, speaking to millions of people; and now, he has become one of the most successful motivational speakers, producing books to encourage millions of people in the world.
J: One very important message Nick tries to bring across is ‘Attitude is Attitude’.
V: What is that about?
J: It means we must have a positive attitude, a positive self-image, courage to dream big, and never give up.
V: Very often, we give up easily and tend to say ‘I can’t do it’. From Nick’s story, we can see that nothing is impossible.
J: Right, if you think you can, you can!
V: We hope that everyone can overcome difficulties and stay positive.
V & J: Thank you.
